I am a potter based in Cardigan, Wales where I live with my young family and work from my home studio. During my fine art BA I focused solely on painting with oils, once I had graduated, in an attempt to reconnect to craft and making I joined a ceramics studio and began to teach myself how to work with clay.
This slow, self-directed path has led me to where I am now, creating tactile forms from stoneware clay finished with hand-painted designs in oxides. Illustration and narrative are key to my work which is heavily influenced by our life here on the River Teifi, with mountains and ancient forests on one side, slate cliffs and seabirds on the other. I am also inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, classical art, and folklore.
